Casa de Playa Vieques is a traditional modest casa that rests gently within a teeming, beautiful nature preserve. Enjoy the gorgeous grounds and touch of nostalgia for the old time Caribbean quality of life. Your yard at Casa de Playa is a park shaded by coconut trees, almonds, bananas, mangoes, and many other enticing fruits. Hosting an exotic bird sanctuary, the nearby laguna is flanked by protected mangroves, visited by pasa finos and inhabited by iguanas, land crabs and… the fragrance of the lovely Trade Winds.
This comfortable two bedroom casa features a queen bed in the master, and two large twin beds (that can be combined into a king bed) in the other. We also can provide a standard crib and small stroller as needed, and include modest air-conditioning as well as 4 lighted ceiling fans for your comfort.
The casa’s chef-kitchen is well-stocked and fun, and the dining, lounge and playroom area are well-furnished, bright and beautiful. Everything that you really need is here, and is well-cared for. We offer our guests Internet service and land-line phone service as well. Our home is an unassuming casa on a beach and enjoys a great sense of privacy and natural wonder. As our guests, you will enjoy a unique, tropical experience wrapped within the beauty and charm of la Isla Nena. The Atlantic Ocean is visible (audible!) from anywhere in la casa. Views include the islands of Culebra and St Thomas – gorgeous at sunset.
Located in the quiet Santa Maria Barrio on the northeastern shore of Vieques, Casa de Playa Vieques abuts a several acre nature preserve, is within ready walking distance of the vast US Fish and Wildlife Service Sanctuary, and is also just minutes away from Isabel Segunda, and wonderful restaurants, shopping and sightseeing. The Trade Winds keep the casa breezy and mosquito-free, and modest air conditioning is available.
Staying at Casa de Playa is a naturalist’s paradise and a beach-goer’s dream. Many species of birds, wild horses and water-life routinely visit the property. The swimming and surfing are amazing, along with a sense of having a private beach all to yourself.
“Beaching” at Casa de Playa always includes; sunning, sanding, wading, stroking, surfing, seaglass searching, seashell listening, and walking without end…. Or just kick up your heels and lounge about on a comfortable chaise and just soak up the sun and ocean breezes…
